So, I officially have seen the largest number ever when weighing myself. I really shouldn't have looked but my doctors office has this nice digital scale and the readout is right in front of my face. How can I not look? I like the old fashioned ones were they move the weights. I could ignore those.
And here's a sappy note. My husband is wonderful and terrible at the same time. Terrible because I made the mistake of having him guess how much I weigh and he about fell out of his chair laughing when he finally got high enough. Brat. But, wonderful because on conference Sunday morning at 8:30 I suggested we go to one of the sessions at the church so the boys could really focus (HA!) on one of the sessions. Well, at least it was the main event instead of the background noise. Anyway, we had plans already to watch the afternoon session with some friends so he said we'd have to move. Now. The morning session starts here at 9:00. Now, in the past when I have made the suggestion the response was much that of Laman and Lemuel, but he was so great about getting moving and getting boys dressed while I packed every snack imaginable and we actually made it! We were 10 minutes late, but we both really felt like it was important. We are raising boys that we want to grow with a knowledge of their Father and a desire to serve missions, so we need to do everything we can to invite the spirit. Anyway, I was really... pleased, ecstatic, proud, overwhelmed, none are quite right...that we were on the same wavelength about it. I think I'm doing a pretty good job training him :).
And finally, about my friends. I have been blessed with wonderful friends. I'm not the greatest corresponder in the world, but still I have some longtime friends who are so wonderful and loving and I love you all very much. I don't know what I would have done without all of you.

Ha, I had to laugh when I read about the weight gain, because I will probably be in the same boat as you in about six months. It turns out that the whole "not throwing up" thing the whole first trimester can be a bummer, because you can actually, oh, I don't know...GAIN WEIGHT!! I have gained 5 lbs or so already, and already weighed almost as much at 12 weeks as I did at 20 for my two girls - ouch!! It's a good thing I don't own a scale, and only get weighed at the doctors, because the whole weight gain thing is really freaking me out this time around...
About conference, we do the same thing. We watch all the sessions at home, except one (usually the Sunday 1st session), where we pack up the girls and go for the "real experience". It's not easy to keep two kids busy for 2 hours, but we want them to know that conference is not just a week to skip going to church, but that it's just a different kind of church, and I'm with you - I think it's important to establish that early.
You crack me up! And don't feel bad. I seriously gain at least 50 lbs. every time I'm pregnant and this time, it's not seeming to want to go anywhere. I feel your pain.
And I'm with you on Conference too. We drug all three down to the church on Sunday. It was a nightmare actually, but I don't regret it. A guy that was down there told me I was a Saint. In my mind I was thinking, "Yeah, either that or a glutton for punishment," but it at least made me feel better.:)
Anyway, we're too similar. I knew we were friends for a reason. Oh, and P.S., I can't picture you looking like a 50-cent hooker. lol
Eh, you'll be a toothpick as soon as you pop the kid out! No worries. I felt Conference was super great! I loved it! Sometimes I have a hard time focusing myself but this time it was easy. Maybe it's just a sign that I'm finally growing up. You're a great friend too!
You are so funny. I know you will nurse any weight (real or imagined) right off. You will always be a pencil with boobs to me:) Also, I have to agree that when we are on the same "page" as our spouses the whole world is brighter.
