We're getting into the groove of school here. I figured it would be a big challenge, and that is proving to be true.

But there are cute smiles and lots of hugs and kisses. (Hyrum is making letters out of Lincoln Logs. Only straight letters please.)

The boys truly are pretty proud of their accomplishments. (We still don't have our curriculum books yet, so we're working out of two first grade workbooks I'd picked up to review and get into the swing of things.)

And fortunately, I only have to keep Jonah entertained with something for about an hour and then he goes down for a nap. It's amazing what can keep a one-year-old's attention! And when he's done, he throws it all on the floor. That's obviously the best part.
The only problem is, last week I forgot to do laundry. My own schedule needs some rearranging.

The first few weeks are always crazy! I actually had to write out a chore schedule for all of us, including myself so I would remember to do things like laundry and meal planning. It takes some time to find your groove, but once you do, it's easy and fun. One of the biggest mistakes new homeschooling moms make is to overdo it the first few months, so take breaks when you need them and don't worry if it doesn't look a lot like "school" because it isn't!
You guys have my props, because I could never do this. Just thinking about it stresses me out. I can be lots of thing for my kids, but not their educator (in the "school" sense, that is). Just don't have the patience or organization for it. I think it's admirable that some people do, though!
I hadn't realized you had taken the plunge to homeschool! Good for you, I know it's tough. If you need to talk to someone I can give you my sister's #...this is her 2nd year doing it. Sometimes it just helps to vent to someone that understands...do you know what I mean?
Yay for school! I really have to applaud all the work that must go into homeschooling. Good luck! They look like they are having so much fun. If it helps any my laundry is not done either and I have this weird funny feeling it never will be :)
Just wanted to say I think you're awesome for doing this. They'll learn plenty, don't worry.
