the saga of 72 hour kits

So, I'm trying to get this done on the cheap. Like, free, if possible. There will be a few things I have to buy, like solar blankets, but I'm trying to get everything else FREE!

Have you heard of Freecycle? Free stuff for the asking!! I just posted a wanted for backpacks. Hopefully I'll come up with five totally free!

Yesterday I spent some time scouring for free samples of things. I sent off for granola bars, shampoo, body wash, diapers, cereal.... All which will go into my kits! I'm pretty excited about that.

This is an interesting adventure.

I love freecycle! I just feel so bad that I gave 2 or 3 backpacks to DI last week!. If you want I will post a wanted on Kitsap freecycle for you and do the pickup if there is any response. Also, you can make a kids pack (they can't carry a lot of weight anyway) out of an old jacket or sweatshirt. Then if they need an extra layer of warmth you can undo it and it is still wearable. I will show you when you come to dinner on Sunday.

So yah, you should totally give me a "step by step" of all your freebies and everything. I'm totally not motivated to do this even though I should be. I REALLY should be....
